The pine tree car freshener dangling from the rearview mirror just got a seeeerious makeover. Mercedes-Benz collaborated with Marc vom Ende, global perfumer Symrise's Senior Perfumier, to create a collection of four perfumes designed specifically for the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class cars. The scents come in glass flasks, which are inserted into a perfume dispenser tucked inside the glove compartment.

Vom Ende says the four signature scents (Downtown Mood, Nightlife Mood, Sports Mood, Freeside Mood) were inspired by city life and designed to complement the rich smell of the car's leather interior -- which is, ironically, the scent we'd like replicated and mass-produced so that we can make our cars smell like an Mercedes-Benz S-Class ride.

Mercedes will roll out the new scent system in its 2014 S-Class series.
