Here's a stat that made us do a double-take: In the past year, men's grooming products raked in more than $5 billion in the United States, according to
The Daily Beast, and more than half of that money was spent on men's skin care products and
cosmetics.
That's right, all your favorite makeup brands -- from MAC to Clinique -- are now carrying man-friendly beauty buys. Even the dude blogs and vlogs are embracing the trend, with a growing number of posts devoted to "grooming" tutorials (aka makeup how-tos for men).
Of course, men wearing makeup isn't exactly groundbreaking. New York Magazine was all over the news last week when Michael Douglas appeared on the cover as Liberace, complete with purple eyeshadow and falsies. And there was Kiss, the original male cake-faces, Egyptian pharaohs, Alexander the Great, you get the drift.
But consider yourselves warned: Your boyfriend may be about to experiment with concealer, bronzer, self-tanners, and more. Here's hoping they keep their hands off our Louboutins.
