Switching to aluminum-free deodorant has been one of the most important natural product swaps I've made. Because you apply deo directly on top of your lymph nodes (part of your immune system), I believe that natural is a healthier choice.
In my quest to find one that works, I tested out dozens, and most of them didn't do a thing. The process wasn't pretty (or at least it didn't
smell pretty). Then I tried one from Fat and the Moon -- an Etsy shop. A woman in California makes it by hand and puts the deodorant in cute little jars. You simply scoop out a little and rub it on. It keeps you fresh and dry, and, of course, it doesn't contain a speck of aluminum. Instead, it's made with coconut oil, aluminum-free baking soda, black pepper and tee tree oil -- all ingredients found in your kitchen. If you're considering switching to natural deodorant, try it. I even smelled fresh through the last California heat wave.
