We'd do almost anything for better, younger-looking skin, but we might just have to draw the line at the latest spa craze. Luxury spas are now touting a traditional facial treatment that combines rice bran with the feces of an Asian nightingale.
Clients at Shizuka New York spa are clamoring for the treatment -- around a hundred seek it out each month. They swear by the exfoliating properties of what Shizuka calls the Geisha Facial. And they're willing to pay big bucks for it, too: Each treatment costs around $180.

Bird poop facials are actually a super old beauty treatment, says spa owner Shizuka Bernstein. They were used by actors and geishas in Japan as early as the 1th century. And don't think you can grab any old bird poop and slather it on your face: pigeon poop won't work, it's gotta be the nightingale.
But ... does it
smell? Fans of the treatment say it does have an odor, "but like toasted rice," says Shizuka client Mari Miyoshi.
