Feeling old, tired or rundown? According to three new studies released today from a bunch of braniacs at Stanford and Harvard, it could be because your blood is tired.
May sound like some sci-fi comic book plot but these brain trusts have discovered that injecting old, sluggish mice with blood from sprightly, younger mice rejuvenates their muscles, their brains and even reverses signs of aging.

"We can turn back the clock instead of slowing the clock down," the director of the Center for Molecular Medicine at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute told
the New York Times.
The tests, which researchers have been conducting for years, prove that when the older mice are injected with younger blood they run through mazes more quickly and accurately and that the opposite holds true, too. Young mice given fogey blood lose their energy and agility.
Of course, this news is huge -- and seems a whole lot more like a plot line from Disney's "Tangled" than something legit. Will we begin banking our own young blood so that as we age we can get transfused with it? Could the anti-aging "cure" that humans have long sought really be something so simple?
We'll soon find out; Tony Wyss-Coray, an author of one of the three studies, has plans to conduct the first-ever young-blood clinical trial with a group of Alzheimer's patients at Stanford this year.
