Vegetarians Live Longer, Coffee Makes You Fat, and Other Health News You Need to Read

Vegetarians might live longer than meat eaters. OK, maybe this one isn't a total shocker given the super powers of veggies, but still, a very large study found vegetarians and vegans have a 12 percent lower risk of death than nonvegetarians. More surprising: Men may benefit more from a vegetarian diet than women. Might be time to make Meatless Mondays mandatory for your dude. (Source)

Eating salmon could mean fewer breakouts. An Italian study found that eating salmon led to fewer zits. On the flip side, milk led to more. (Source)

Cheese may prevent cavities. If you're not worried about acne, go ahead and load up on dairy. Cheese specifically, since it can raise the pH level in your mouth and help protect your teeth from enamel-wrecking acid. (Source)

Your coffee could be making you fat. Researchers found that drinking five or more cups of coffee a day could cause you to store fat and put you at risk for type 2 diabetes. Keep it under five cups and you should be fine ... and possibly a little less jittery. (Source)
