The Wedding Hairstyling Trick None of Your Friends Have Heard

Spoiler Alert: this blow-drying trend may change the way you style your hair for your wedding. And for happily ever after
The worst thing that could possibly happen on your wedding day: a horrible blowout. OK, OK, so there are probably a lot of other things that could go wrong -- groom goes AWOL, your dress rips, grandma gets drunk -- but bad hair is definitely up there.

Prepping for your wedding day should be a smooth process, not something that stirs up unnecessary pre-wedding jitters. And now you can officially cue the hallelujah chorus, because we've found the to-die-for styling technique that's going to change your life: the French blow dry.

The French blow dry isn't exactly a new way to style hair, but it's rare in the US at best. When done correctly, you can curl your hair with a blow dryer. No tricky curling iron, no gunky curl sprays. Just a blow dryer. That's it.

Sound ridiculous, or just incredibly hard? I thought so too. But then I tried it for myself.

Oh. Em. Gee.

Not only was my hair nothing short of Victoria Secret model bombshell status, but it felt amazing and lasted for three days (I eventually washed it, but it can last for up to five days). Granted, this hairstyle will take practice. But once you've got it down, it'll be so worth it. We got all the details on how to pull off this style from Aveda hairstylist Bryan Bayer.

Step 1: Blow dry your hair like you normally would until it's about 80 percent dry. Section off hair into pieces three to four inches wide.

Step 2: With a pure bristle round brush, smooth the hair from underneath. Tightly wrap hair around the brush, wrapping hair away from your face. With the dryer blowing on the hair constantly, slowly pull the brush down to expose the rest of your hair on the brush (you should feel it tug). Don't remove your hair from the heat for at least 15 seconds.

Step 3: Turn the blow dryer away from your hair, and let hair cool on the brush for several seconds. Make sure hair is completely cool before you remove it from brush, as this is where the curl will set.

Step 4: Repeat on the rest of your hair.
