Celeb hairstylist April Webster offers her advice on how you can create this classic side-parted twist.
How-to: Step 1: Working with clean damp hair, apply a golf ball-sized dollop of volumizing mousse like Pureology SilkBodifier, $25 through hair. Step 2: Blow dry hair using a large round brush, lifting at the root and applying heat downwards to smooth out strands and create volume. Create a side part and sweep bangs to the side. Step 3: When hair is completely dry, apply a pea-sized amount of shine serum like Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Frizz Serum, $5.03 all over and begin to smooth hair back into a low ponytail at the nape of your neck, leaving your long side bang hanging. Step 4: Twist the ponytail tightly in a clockwise upward turn to create a French twist, pinning with bobby pins along the way. Once you reach the crown of your head, fold the ends down and tuck them into the twist. Pin to secure. Step 5: Use a stronghold hairspray and the backside of a comb to shape hair and tame flyaways.

Celebrity stylist David Lopez shares tips for recreating this fun side pony with blunt fringe.
How-to: Step 1: Prep clean, damp hair with a styling mousse like Aussie Real Volume Styling Mousse, Maximum Hold, $4.99. Then, blow hair straight with a flat paddle brush. Step 2: Wrap even sections of hair around a one-inch curling iron. After finishing, gently rake fingers through curls with a matte pomade like Abba Pure Pomade, $15.99 to create a clean texture. Step 3: Gently pull curls into a side ponytail leaving out a small section in front of your ear opposite the pony. Step 4: Wrap that hanging section around the ponytail using bobby pins to secure it into place. Step 5: If you have blunt, heavy bangs like Riley, glide a flat iron over them to give them extra polish. For mega shine, finish the style with a light mist of shine spray.

Award shows like the Golden Globes give all us normal, non-famous people the glorious advantage of spectatorship. We get to sit back in the comfort of our couches, cheese puffs in hand, and mock, obsess-over, scoff at, laugh at, love, or hate the hairstyles, makeup looks and dresses parading down the always fabulous red carpet. What's more fun than that?
To us, the only thing better than judging the best celebrity hairstyles like some sort of Roman Emperor surveying the gilded crop, is getting the inside scoop on how we can recreate the ones we love sans a hairstylist. You see, despite not being a celebrity, we still get to put down those darn cheese puffs (put down the cheese puffs already) and attend fabulous parties, fancy dinner dates, or fun nights out that too are worthy of gorgeous hairstyles. So to help you master the hairstyles we went gaga over while watching the red carpet and the Golden Globes presentation, we gathered the looks we loved and asked celebrity hairstylists (most who actually created the red carpet looks themselves) how to easily copy the styles seen. They gave us detailed step-by-step how-tos for all the hot trends like sleek French twists, big curls, and soft flowing waves.
