You know those ho-hum days when life seems to be one mundane task after another? Wake up, press snooze, wake up again, shower, go to work, repeat. When life becomes routine, it's easy to get into a beauty rut as well. But a hot date, a wedding, or even a job interview are all good reasons to break that five-minute morning regimen you've got down pat. And that's where we come in. We gave three readers hair, makeup, and style makeovers for their upcoming special occasions -- including a quick teeth whitening to get them ready for their picture ops.
At the newly opened Inglot Cosmetics studio in New York City, our readers were introduced to celebrity hairstylist David Lopez, makeup artist Kerrie Urban and wardrobe stylist Alison Lang. See how the experts transformed these real women and how you, too, can incorporate their tips and easy-to-replicate styles for those special occasions that dot your calendar.

Date Night Makeover: Jen
Reader Jen has been navigating the ever-so troublesome waters of Manhattan's dating scene and wants an easy, go-to date nighttime look. First impressions are everything on a date, so to make sure that she makes one that lasts, our experts aimed to give her a flirtier 'do, a sexy makeup look and a bright smile.

Hair
Lopez takes away some of the weight around her face and shapes it into a fun, flirty style that can be done in minutes. "Men just love long hair, but long hair still has to have style," says Lopez. He cleans up the edges to make it look healthier, because "healthy hair is sexy hair." Then, he cuts face-framing layers to highlight her cheekbones. He keeps the longer layers at her jaw, so that when she pulls her hair back it shows off some of the neckline, which he promises is "sexy."
The style: Step 1: Apply texturizing spray through your hair. Lopez likes Bumble and bumble Surf Spray, $23. Step 2: Blow it out using a round brush on the front layers to give them some shape. Step 3: Spray a heat protectant on your ends, then with a 1-inch curling iron, gently wrap the ends and curl up, hold for 5 seconds. "This gives the ends a nice bend and some bounce. Don't worry about curling the hair but giving the hair some body," says Lopez.

Makeup
"Jen is getting back on the dating scene, so she needs a sexy look that brings out her best features. She has amazing green eyes, so I really wanted to play those up by doing a smoky eye using purple tones since they're complimentary. We went light on the lips so that her eyes got all the attention," says Urban.
Step 1: Line eyes with a black pencil across the top lashline and from the outside corner of the bottom lashline to the middle. Smudge. Step 2: Sweep a light purple shimmery shadow over the lids. Then with a dark purple shadow, apply on the outer corners and top lashlines by slightly winging it, then blend into the crease. With a liner brush, line the bottom lashline with the same shadow. Step 3: Apply a light shimmery cream shadow into the inner corners. Step 4: Curl lashes and apply mascara (Urban's favorite is CoverGirl LashBlast Volume Blasting Waterproof Mascara, $7.79) to both top and bottom lashes. Step 5: Add individual false lashes to the top lashline. Step 6: Use a peachy cream blush (try Nars Cream Blush in Enchanted, $27) on the apples of the cheeks, sweeping up the cheekbone. Step 7: Line the lips with a neutral/pink lip pencil and apply a clear gloss.

Teeth
Jen was given Rembrandt 2-Hour Whitening Kit, $19.99, to use while her hair and makeup were being done. She was surprised at how easy it was to use and how quickly -- and well -- it worked. "I've used other teeth whitening products in the past, and my teeth were always so sensitive with those products," she says. This product didn't have that same effect, "and made my teeth dramatically whiter."
