When we think of updos we think of versatility -- the ability to change things up (literally) in order to adapt to a situation. And the "situation" women so often deal with when it comes to their hair and hairstyles is the "no time" situation, the "bad hair day" situation and, our personal favorite, the "I need to look pulled-together despite the fact that I have no time and am having a bad hair day" situation. Updo hairstyles can deal with a multitude of hair issues and the best part is, there are plenty of cute styles to try this fall. Like we said, updos are versatile.
While updos at first glance might seem labor intensive, they're actually some of the easiest hairstyles to pull off. From polished and chic to messy and sexy, these celebrity hairstyles are sure to have you looking fashion forward this season, and get you out the door in a flash (which is equally, if not more, important). They work for the office, date-night or a weekend of relaxation.
And here to share the scoop on how to recreate these quick celebrity hairstyles are Michael Angelo, Shu Uemura Art of Hair Atelier Director and Owner of Michael Angelos Wonderland Beauty Parlor, and Hayleigh Hatcher, stylist at blow, "the new york blow dry bar." Together, they explain how to take these hairstyles from the red carpet to the real world in a few easy-to-follow steps.
This romantic look is perfect for date-night. Here is how Angelo recommends getting it:
Step 1: Work texturizing mousse like Shu Uemura Art of Hair Kaze Wave, $33 through dry hair to add texture. Step 2: Using a large barrel curling iron, create loose curls. Step 3: Finger comb hair once it's cool, and section it off into a front section and a back section using just your fingers. Create a low pony with the back section of hair. Step 4: Finish by pinning the front section of hair up and over the low pony to create a voluminous front. Mist with hairspray.

Step 2: Create a deep side part and secure hair into a low, tight bun. Step 3: Spritz a strong-hold finishing spray (try L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray, $13.99) onto a short-toothed brush (a toothbrush works too) and run it over your hairline or any flyaways to create a smooth finish.

This soft, side-parted bun is perfectly suited for the office. Here is how Angelo recommends creating it:
Step 1: Work a volumizing mousse (try TRESemme Thermal Creations Volumizing Mousse, $4.50) through wet hair and blow dry to create volume. Step 2: Using a fine-tooth comb, gently tease the hair at the crown to create additional volume. Step 3: Create a low, messy bun, but leave the front section of hair out. Step 4: Style the front section of hair by creating a side part, and gently combing your hair back over the teased sections. Secure with pins if needed. Step 5: Mist entire head with a strong-hold hairspray.

This high-fashion, messy-in-a-good-way ponytail is hot this season and a cinch to pull off. Here is how Hatcher says to get it:

Gently tease the hair in the pony with a fine-tooth comb to create extra volume. Step 3: Finish by spritzing on a light-hold hairspray like Blow Blow Out Spray, $19.75.
