For years, celebrities have inspired fans to copy their hairstyle or wear their favorite shade of red lipstick, but only a handful of the rich and famous manage to do this over generations.

Among these enduring personas: Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, and Madonna. While pop culture constantly changes, their influence never fades and their unique styles live on. Who hasn't seen a woman on the street with ballet flats like Audrey's, big, dramatic hair like Brigitte's, or a rock n' roll leather and lace combo like Madonna circa 1982?

So which celeb icon most influences your style? Read on to find out whose look and lifestyle most resonates with you, and to get tips on how to modernize what made these women such enduring icons. Here's to looking as fabulous -- and being as unforgettable -- as these three beauties.

Beauty Icon: Audrey Hepburn
Style: Classic Chic

The cultural impact the "Breakfast at Tiffany's" star has left behind is undeniable. Holly Golightly's glamorous prison-visitation black dress has made the LBD a staple in every woman's closet, and her oversized RayBan wayfarers and chic pearls are accessories that will never go out of style.

Update it: If Holly's style is too retro glam for you, try copying Audrey Hepburn's personal casual chic style. Hipsters everywhere are loving Audrey's iconic black skinny jeans that have cycled back into contemporary style. For a modern (and trendy) update, buy a pair of skinny jeans in a bright color like coral, green, or bright blue. Read on to see what else made Audrey such a style icon, and how to give her go-tos a mod update.

Audrey's Signature Hairstyle: A high chignon
Update it: Audrey's classic "Breakfast at Tiffany's" updo is gorgeous, but who wears a tiara for a stroll down 5th Avenue? For a modern twist on a glam night out, opt for a chic chignon without the princess accessory. Celebrity hairstylist Vince Smith shares how:

Curl all your hair with a 1-inch curling iron, setting them into pincurls until your hair is cooled. Then tie your hair into a high ponytail at the top of your crown. Wrap your hair around your fingers to create a chignon shape, securing with bobby pins. Set with firm-hold hairspray.

Audrey's Signature Makeup Look: Timeless red lips and well-groomed brows
Update it: The '50s red lips and strong brows make for a gorgeous vintage look any modern woman can pull off. Makeup artist Christina Guerra shares a softer variation of the look to make it even more wearable:

Apply a liquid foundation, then buff it out with a fluffy powder brush for a soft-focus finish. Use the same powder brush to lightly apply a loose powder. Apply a peachy blush with an angled blush brush from your temples to the apples of your cheekbones. This ensures that the color isn't too strong and overpowering. Try MAC Powder Blush in Fleur Power, $20. Make sure to define your eyebrows by filling in sparse areas with powder. For your eyes, use a caramel-colored shadow on your lids up to your crease. Then, apply a thin winged tip on your top lid with a black gel eyeliner and finish with mascara. For your lips, apply a juicy coral-red lip color. Try Nars Sheer Lipstick in Gipsy, $24.

Audrey's Signature Cocktail: Martini
Update it: When Miss Golightly wasn't having breakfast at Tiffany's, she was attending upscale events or throwing a raucous cocktail party in her apartment. From champagne to martinis, the glasses were refilled all night and the fabulous ladies stayed thin. But if we were to drink champys and dirty martinis all night, we'd be bursting at our skinny jeans' seams. So to keep your parties just as fabulous, try Crystal Light's five calorie Appletini or Peach Bellini drink mix. These tasty mocktails give you the same great flavor of your favorite cocktails while being good to your figure. Party on.
