"My biggest mistake was the bad bangs of 1988. This is me at my junior prom in Huntington Beach, Calif. I thought the curtain of bangs curled under with an iron was so cool!"

"I wanted to look like Madonna in her "Lucky Star" phase ... but didn't notice it wasn't working for me."
We've all made poor beauty choices (some *cough* Christina Aguilera *cough* more often than others). Hasn't everyone, at some point, fallen prey to bad hair, poorly tweezed eyebrows, a weird hair color phase, or questionable makeup?
Whether it was the fashion of the time that led us astray or just a lack of good judgment -- bad hair and makeup moments have happened to everyone. To prove it (in a good natured way) some of today's most knowledgeable and fashion-forward beauty experts have shared their worst beauty moments from the past. That's right, the tastemakers we all look to for advice are human too -- well, at least used to be before they made the beauty big time.
So if you're like us and think it's a blast and a half to bust out the old high school yearbook or take a stroll down memory lane, get ready for some nostalgic fun.
And to join in that fun (and make things fair), we editors thought we would share too. Here are our own worst beauty moments:
"I was convinced full bangs were the look for me, despite a massive cowlick that forced me to coat my hair in gross amounts of hairspray." Sarah, Senior Editor
"I used to think electric blue hair mascara was the best thing since Slipknot -- yeah, you can see how confused I was about a lot of things." Anna, Associate Editor
"I used to pull out thin long pieces of hair on either side of my middle part and gel them -- almost like an ant's feelers. Do you remember when that was in? No? Anybody?" Sharon, Assistant Editor
"There was a time when I ONLY wore pink Fiorucci glitter on my eyelids. Pink. Glitter. So attractive." Audrey, Special Projects Editor
We're just getting started here, so sit back, relax, and click through the photos of beauty experts' worst beauty moments. Oh and feel free to share yours in the comments section below.
