"Simple wipes are the only ones I'll use -- the rest can be really irritating to my skin. I always bring a pack with me when I travel because they can take off anything, even waterproof makeup. And they're great for mid-flight hand washing." -- Meghan Rabbitt, Executive Editor
"Some days -- OK, most days -- I don't even wash my face; I just use one of these wipes. They take off everything without causing breakouts or irritating my eyes. I also love using them to clean my feet at night -- they feel cooling and soothing after a long day." -- Cinya Burton, Senior Associate Editor
"These are especially great for my sensitive skin. I like to wrap one over a Q-Tip to remove tricky, concentrated areas of makeup -- like eyeliner that's really in there between my lashes." -- Emily Popp, Assistant Editor, BeautyRiot.com
"These are unbelievably soft, and they have a barely-noticeable powdery scent. Besides using them to wipe off my makeup, I'll sometimes use one to clean off my shoes after I wear them and the inside gets sweaty." -- Christine Lee, Editorial Intern
"Often, the only time I can squeeze in a yoga class is right before a meeting. Kind of gross, I know, but at least I'm not doing Bikram. If I wipe down my face, back, and chest with one of these wipes, I feel so much better about it. They have salicylic acid to fight breakouts, and the pink grapefruit scent is really clean and refreshing." -- Dawn Davis, NYC Beauty Editor
I love any sort of multi-tasking product. I get excited about every new two-in-one lip and cheek stain. I applaud the infinite uses of salves. (Cuticles, split-ends, chapped lips, the list goes on.) Any beauty product that saves time and lightens my makeup bag is a keeper.
This obsession with efficiency also explains why I have a stash of face wipes that could last well into the next decade. These moistened towelettes may appear to be little more than makeup-removing tools, but they can actually do so much more. When you have face wipes, you can forget about bathing your dirty dog, cleaning out stinky shoes, or wiping up spills. You can even put off taking a shower altogether by just swiping a few of these all over (OK, depending on how badly you smell).
Maybe I'm a little too enthusiastic, but you get the idea. And I'm not alone -- just about every beauty editor in our office loves face wipes as much as I do. And, as I suspected, they don't just use them to wash their faces either. Here are the face wipes we love and the myriad things we do with them. If you're anything like us, next time your computer keyboard gets grimy you won't even consider going to Staples -- you'll grab the nearest pack of face wipes.
