Half the battle of getting beautiful hair, and more importantly, a beautiful blow out -- is having the right brush. That's why Van Osten swears by the 100 percent boar bristle Marilyn Brush. "Ever since I picked up the Marilyn Brush years ago, I haven't put it down. It is the brush I use on all of my blow outs because it helps create volume to a style while getting the hair smooth and shiny," she says.
To assure that your hair will hold its style and to give it luscious volume, use mousse. Choose one that offers medium hold, doesn't contain a lot of alcohol (which can be drying) and is made to give hair volume. To use, apply it to wet or dry hair, section by section, before blow drying.
Finding the perfect flat iron is a miracle in itself (as in one that gets hot enough, doesn't burn your fingers and actually works) -- especially for ladies with course hair.
