#Filtered
Don't you wish life came with a filter? Particularly the butterfly Snapchat filter that makes everyone look just downright flawless? Well, lucky for you, you can rock the flattering filter IRL this Halloween with the right makeup and a few sparkly homemade butterflies.
To create a filtered-looking finish, use a full coverage foundation, like Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate, $55, paired with a gold-tinged watercolor blush like Daniel Sandler Watercolour Liquid Blush, $15.50. Another trick? Pick a highlighter two shades lighter than your skin tone for that perfect iridescent glow. Now you're ready to snap photos all night long -- no filter needed.
We're kind of obsessed with everything galaxy. Galaxy hair, galaxy nails -- and you guessed it -- galaxy makeup. It's mesmerizing, gorgeous and 100 percent recreateable. You just need teal, blue, purple and pink eye shadow (between NYX Cosmetics Primal Colors, $5, in Hot Pink and Hot Blue and NYX Full Throttle Shadow Palette, $10, in Stunner you'll be covered). You'll use the eye shadow for your out-of-this-world eye look, as well as your stellar face makeup. A shimmery silver eyeliner, like NYX Glam Liner Aqua Luxe Collection in Glam Platinum, $5.50, will also come in handy, and you may want a pro face paint, such asMehron Paradise Makeup AQ - Detailz, $8.50, to accentuate your eyes and draw your star freckles. Oh, and don't be shy with the face glitter (try NYX Face & Body Glitter, $6, in Crystal) -- it's a must for this look.
With this costume you're guaranteed to be the star of the costume contest (duh, they're painted on your face).
This deer makeup is almost too cute for words. Exaggerated eye makeup, a colored-in nose and white spots make the look. If you've got long hair and a bit of extra time, you can even style your strands into faux-ears. Simply place a thin, stretchy black headband around your forehead, loop your hair into it and secure it with bobby pins. Now, all you have to do is enlist your friends to go as Thumper and Flower, and you've got a full on "Bambi" squad.
This mermaid makeup may look complicated, but you really only need some fishnet stockings and colorful eye shadow (the NYX Cosmetics Avant Pop! Shadow Palette, $17, has most of the shades you need. You'll also want to pick up Make Up For Ever Star Powder, $20, and the Make Up For Ever Flash Palette, $99). Hold the fishnet up to your face as a stencil, and apply shades of green and blue shadow onto your skin with a damp stippling brush. Create a smoky eye using the same shades as your scales, and apply stick-on jewels as needed. Voila. Your under-the-sea-inspired look is complete.
