Megan, 31, a successful lawyer who cites the Goody Spin Pin as her number one workday hair necessity ("how else is a woman to do a classy low bun?") is looking to strike a balance between her professional life and her personal one. "My biggest issue is trying to find a compromise between long, sexy hair for the weekends and professional hair for work." We're calling in the experts from the Marie Robinson Salon in New York City -- including hairstylist Frederique Carme, colorist Amy Huson, and makeup artist Joette Balsamo -- to see if they can help Megan find her perfect mix.

'Anything but a bun.'
Megan's hair color is entirely natural, and she's reluctant to do any sort of high-maintenance process. But she is looking for a more interesting cut. "I have incredibly thick hair, and I want that limp model look," she says. "Drying takes forever -- I would love for my hair to be a more manageable weight." Megan also wants a sexier cut that can be styled in office-appropriate ways, rather than the severe bun she generally wears.

The color
Huson decides to do highlights toward the ends of Megan's hair. "I'm putting in some highlighted pieces -- nothing too drastic -- highlighting around the face," says Huson. "And we're going to keep them in the red family -- a nice auburn." Highlighting just the ends and around the face is a good way to brighten up a look without having to worry about roots coming in later.

The cut
Carme gives Megan the sexy look she has been longing for. "We're cutting it about two inches and we're going to shorten the front to frame her face more," says Carme. "I'm going to do long layers all over the hair and texturize it." She explains that the long layers are the key to striking a balance between a sexy nighttime look and a professional daytime style.

The style
Carme gives Megan a sexy blowout that is voluminous yet manageable. Huson says of the highlights, "I tried to get away from the ombrè look and keep it lighter around the face ombrè can be harsh."
