Colorist Scheib took inspiration for Dana's new beachy, California-blonde highlights from the natural blonde color common in children. "Look how this color brightens her complexion and gives it life," he says. Don't forget to use color-protecting products after coloring your hair.

The cut
"I'm bringing her hair up to her shoulders and am layering it to create shape and movement," says stylist Perez. "We'll do a side-swept bang; she had bangs for a while and we're going to change it up." The shorter, face-framing layers allow her facial features to shine. The day makeup look
She wants an all-day, natural look that can easily transform for evening, so I'm concentrating on her beautiful eyes, then am using primer and foundation (such as me by Mezhgan Luminous Me Primer and Foundation duo, $49) to even out her skin," Mezhgan says. Dana feels plagued by dark circles, so Mezhgan recommends patting -- not rubbing -- on a concealer (try NARS Concealer, $22) that's the same color as your foundation but in a thicker consistency. Bronze eye shadow (such as Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Baked, $16) is versatile, looks natural and makes blue eyes pop.
"I felt like a star!" Dana says of her makeover experience, adding that she picked up a lot of new tricks she now uses before work. "When I saw the 'before' and 'after' pictures, I was thinking, 'that's how you go from mug shot to hot shot!'" Learn more ways to get gorgeous while shaving minutes off your morning routine here.
