To get Bullock's perfectly accessorized updo, follow these steps:
Step 1: Start by picking up a fun headband accessory or a thin velvet ribbon.
Step 2: If you have bangs or face-framing layers, smooth those out using a round brush and a blow dryer.
Step 3: Secure hair into a low ponytail, leaving a few strands at the base of your hairline free.
Step 4: Create volume like Bullock's at the back of your head by loosening the hair directly above the elastic a bit to create that subtle "bump" of volume.
Step 5: Slide on your headband, keeping your face-framing layers or bangs out of the band.
Step 6: Bobby pin random sections of your ponytail up to create a messy-looking knot.
Step 2: Create a side part in your hair and start curling it, section by section with a curling iron held horizontally. Spritz each section of hair with styling spray first to protect hair and make the curls last (try L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray, $14.99).
Step 3: Once all of your hair is curled and feels completely cool, flip your head over and gently finger comb the curls and spritz them with strong hold hairspray (try Pantene Classic Unforgettable Hairspray Maximum Hold, $4.32). Flip back up and spray hair again.

Eva Mendes
Follow these steps to create Mendes' boldly accessorized 'do:
Step 1: Quickly curl your hair all over to add texture to it. Don't worry about making the curls perfect; you're going to put them up anyway. If your hair is naturally curly, skip this step.
Step 2: Create volume at the crown of your head by backcombing one-inch sections starting toward the back of your crown working forward. Do not tease your bangs or face-framing layers. Gently brush the top layer of teased hair to smooth it out a bit.
Step 3: Start twisting two-inch thick sections of hair around two or three fingers and bobby pin the coils to the back of your head. Repeat until all of your hair is pulled back. They shouldn't look like perfect curls, so overlap them a bit. Play with the shape of the updo until you're happy with it.
Step 4: Add an eye-catching accessory to one side of the updo. We love anything with feathers.

Reese Witherspoon
To get Witherspoon's classically glam layers, follow these steps:
Step 1: Apply thickening lotion to wet hair to add lift before blow drying it. Try Redken Thickening Lotion 06, $16.
Step 2: Create a bit more volume at the back of your crown by teasing a three-inch square section. Smooth a top layer of hair over the teased area with a brush to hide it.
Step 3: Use a curling iron held vertically to add soft waves all over. Start the curls at ear height, so the top of your hair remains straight. And be sure to wrap your hair around the iron, instead of clamping it in. Set the look with hairspray (try Sebastian Professional Shaper Zero Gravity Hairspray, $11.95)

Kate Beckinsale
Create Beckinsale's chic bun with these steps:
Step 1: Start by backcombing the front of your hair. Spritz volumizing spray like, Frederic Fekkai Full Volume Instant Root Lifting Spray, $20 on each section before teasing to get mega lift. Leave a half-inch of hair in the front hanging, and once you're done teasing, smooth that front layer over the teased area to hide it.
Step 2: Secure hair into a slick, mid-height ponytail.
Step 3: Brush the tail, spritz it with styling spray (try Bumble and bumble Spray de Mode, $25) and twist it tightly then secure it into a ballerina-like bun.
When it comes to holiday parties we all want to look our best, or even better than our best, right? Well, that's why we thought we'd share these nine gorgeous celebrity hairstyles. Copy one of these fun, chic or glamorous hairstyles then pair it with a glam makeup look (like one of the ones seen in this celebrity photo gallery), and you're sure to turn heads this season -- even if you don't have money to spend on a new outfit.
If you're not usually the do-it-yourself hairstyle type, don't fret, we are also going to share step-by-step instructions on how you can recreate these looks easily -- at home. And no, you don't need to be a licensed hairdresser in order to do them.
So, whose hairstyle will it be? Will you go with a dramatic hairstyle, like the updo that Eva Mendes is sporting? Or are you looking for something more classic, like the long layers Reese Witherspoon is wearing or Taylor Swift's faux bob? Or maybe you'll go the boho route with a braided hairstyle like January Jones has. Or heck, if you have more than one party to hit this season, you can try a different one for each occasion. Regardless of the look you choose, we know you'll wear the hairstyle well.
