In the mood to channel this infamous, disturbed rock star this Halloween? Then follow these step-by-step instructions courtesy of Gregory Arlt, director of makeup artistry for MAC Cosmetics. Complete the look with a ratty, black bouffant wig (an Elvira wig at any costume shop will work perfectly) and you're good to go.

Start by applying your usual foundation and concealer. Skip the blush or bronzer. A pale look is best.

Next sweep a vanilla-colored shadow on your eyelids (try Maybelline New York Expert Wear Eyeshadow Singles in Vanilla, $6.53).

Begin lining your eyes with liquid or gel eyeliner (try MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack, $15) using a fine-tip eyeliner brush. Start at the inner corners of your eyes and extend the line outward until it almost reaches your brow. Then bring that line back down so that you create a long thin triangle shape at the corners of your eyes (Amy's signature). Then thicken the line along its entire length. (You want it to be visible when your eyes are open so the thicker the better.) Keep your eyes closed for a minute after applying the liner to allow it to dry.

Line your bottom lash lines with a brown powder shadow (try CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 1-Kit Shadow in Brown Smolder, $2.99) using an angled liner brush.
