Her efforts garnered her the Wyler Prize at the 2008 Genesis Awards by the Humane Society of the United States (as well as an arrest warrant in Japan). She also supports the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), a global conservation organization.

In addition to being Goodwill Ambassador for the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Jolie helped musician Wyclef Jean with Project Clean Streets, an initiative to collect garbage on a regular basis in six municipalities in metropolitan Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She also donated millions of dollars toward a wildlife sanctuary in the northwestern province of Battambang in Cambodia.
