You don't see a lot of natural curls on the red carpet, which is a shame since Ruah proves it's a beautiful look. Use a curl defining cream (like Badass Hair Phat Curl Defining and Thickening Cream, $28) to keep them looking soft and not crunchy and touch up your curls with a curling iron (or use an iron on your whole head if you have straight hair naturally) for more definition.

Dania Ramirez
The trend: Long, flirty lashes
Ramirez brings focus to her eyes with ultra-long and skinny lashes. For special occasions you could do false lashes (like she likely did), but for every day just try multiple coats of a lengthening mascara to build lashes up and out.

Alyson Hannigan
The trend: Red hair color
Red is still the hot shade, and paired with brunette undertones it's a gorgeous and warm look, as Hannigan shows. If you're not ready to go full redhead yet, you could try some red lowlights for a subtle change.

Dianna Agron
The trend: Minimal makeup with a formal updo
Similar to the idea of wearing a casual updo with a formal look, this combo of natural makeup with a structured half-updo makes the style more modern and less debutante. Try balancing formal and fun by wearing either a formal updo or glamorous makeup -- and only do both for really upscale affairs.
We love award shows for many different reasons. Some, like the Oscars, are fun to watch for the over-the-top red carpet looks. And others, like the MTV awards, are a trip to view with all the wacky and funky styles. However, few of the looks from either show can be worn to the grocery store or even to work or a cocktail party, right? That's why another one of our favorites is the People's Choice Awards. This year they went a bit more casual and the result was celebrities with fun -- and very wearable -- looks.
Click through this gallery to see the trends we spotted on the red carpet at the People's Choice Awards. All of them are things you can try in your everyday life, whether it's a new makeup technique suitable for work or a fun updo for your next Saturday night out.
So who was a trendsetter at this year's awards? Well, all the celebrities looked fabulous (we couldn't find a "worst" in the bunch!), but our favorites were Carrie Underwood, Sandra Bullock, Nicole Scherzinger, Olivia Wilde, Diane Kruger, Taraji P. Henson, Katie Cassidy, Amber Riley, Daniela Ruah, Dania Ramirez, Alyson Hannigan, and Dianna Agron. Check them out now!
