Not only is it one of the most beautiful places in the world, Hawaii and its capital are home to some of the country's most beautiful people, too. Perhaps it's because of the average 77-degree weather year-round, clean air or the age-old secrets to luminous skin and hair (kukui nut oil, anyone)? Look no further than its celeb roster for proof: Barack Obama, Nicole Kidman, Kelly Preston, Tia Carrere, Nicole Scherzinger and Maggie Q.

No. 10: San Diego, Calif.
With lots of sun, beaches and perfect weather, San Diego is a magnet for attractive people who love the outdoors. The city also has a ton of salons per capita and a population that spends over $3,000,000 a year on coloring their hair in addition to lots of tourism and a nightclub scene. Translation: Lots of attractive people looking to have a good time. Celebrity natives include: Cameron Diaz, Mario Lopez, Adam Brody, Reggie Bush, Stephanie Seymour, Kendra Wilkinson ... the list goes on and on.

No. 9: Boston, Mass.
Attention, single ladies! No list of good-looking people would be complete without a college town like Boston, known for its brains, athletic brawn and fine male celebs, from hotties Matt Damon and Ben Affleck (who actually grew up in Cambridge) to funny men Dane Cook and John Krasinski. In addition to being the ninth-fittest city in America (according to the American Fitness Index) and the sixth-smartest city (according to The Daily Beast's study), Beantown was once home to the famously good-looking Kennedy family.

No. 8: Atlanta, Ga.
Atlanta is home to Julia Roberts (People's Most Beautiful person of 2010), supermodel Chanel Iman and sexy singers like Usher, Ne-Yo, John Mayer and Keri Hilson. Even Canadian heartthrob Justin Bieber spent some time hanging out in this sizzling town. Add a thriving nightlife scene and loads of southern hospitality, and you've got a town full of lookers.

No. 7: Knoxville, Tenn.
If we could, we would have picked the whole state of Tennessee, but we narrowed it down to Knoxville. Why? Megan Fox, FHM's former "Sexiest Woman Alive" and Christina Hendricks, Esquire's "Best Looking Woman in America," are from the area. But if you head a few hours away toward Nashville or Memphis, you'll also pass the hometowns of cuties Justin Timberlake and Miley Cyrus. Hmm, must be something in the water.
Of U.S. cities, which town is the fairest of them all? No, we're not talking waterfalls and flowers; we're talking people. And since beauty is pretty much in the eye of the beholder, we admit, it's hard to tell which town takes the title. There are so many qualities to consider: good looks (like having beautiful hair or clear skin), fit figures, brains, personality, charisma, sense of humor ... and everyone's preferences are so different. But just for fun, we put good looks way up there.
To get to the root of our little investigation of which city in the U.S. boasts the prettiest people, we scoured umpteen surveys and articles on the subject, then looked up the hometowns of People's "Most Beautiful 2015" (the authority, naturally). From Hawaii to Maine, we counted how many gorgeous celebs came from or gravitated to certain cities, then considered stats on fitness, diet and beauty-related industries -- if only to evaluate how obsessed the locals are with achieving some gold standard of "beauty." (We deserve an A for effort, don't you think?)
Now ... was our method scientific? Er, not completely. But that didn't stop us from obsessing over the data. Plus, we learned some fun things along the way, like where to go if you want to increase your chances of snagging a hot, brainy or even funny man. Or where not to go if you want to avoid losing your natural beauty to stress.
So, without further ado, check out the list of the prettiest cities to see if your hometown made the grade, and if not, start planning your next people-watching vacation!
