Trend No. 1: A deep side part
Spring 2013 is all about loose, more natural looks, like this one featured at DKNY. Its defining characteristic is a deep side part, which we're seeing at other shows, including Band of Outsiders, Derek Lam, Mara Hoffman, and Diane von Furstenberg.

For the DKNY look, Wella Professionals Global Creative Director Eugene Souleiman says to begin by roughly blow drying your hair using your hands, then create a low side part and section off your hair from the parting to your crown. Then spray the roots with setting lotion (like Wella Professionals Perfect Setting Blow-Dry Lotion, $13) and blow dry small sections of hair straight using a round brush. Once your hair is dry, sweep it over your forehead and pin it loosely behind your ear. Then, to get a slightly tousled effect, twist your ends into a rope, spray the rope with texturizing spray (like Wella Professionals Ocean Spritz Beach Texture Spray, $12), and blow dry with a diffuser until your hair is dry. Then shake your hair out for natural-looking texture. "For extra effect, pin the rope up until you are ready to reveal the hair," says Souleiman.

Trend No. 2: Bright, colorful eyeshadow
Spring has always been about pigmented pastels and bright floral hues and 2013 is no exception. Stylists from Kate Spade, Nicole Miller, and Creatures of the Wind didn't shy away from the bold colors, and at the Rebecca Minkoff show, Stila Cosmetics makeup artist Sarah Lucero embraced them as well. "This look is all about a pastel pop of color. The mint eye looks easy against bronze, caramel-y skin," says Lucero. "And what I love about this mint is that the opaque texture makes it obvious and intentional. Wearing this trend will wake up your makeup."

To get the look, start with a fresh face. Lightly dust a caramel-colored bronzer under your cheekbones, on your temples, and your jawline. Avoid using too much color on the cheeks and lips since you don't want to detract too much attention from the eyes. Lucero used Stila Convertible Color in Camellia, $25. Then apply a mint colored eyeshadow to the corners of your eyes and line your upper lids with a turquoise liner. Finish the look with a coat or two of curling mascara.

Trend No. 3: Strong brows
Though big, defined brows have been a growing trend this year, they're only getting bolder come spring. Strong brows were the focal point at Thakoon, Tracy Reese, and Olcay Gulsen (shown here). Revlon makeup artist Gucci Westman recommends using a pencil to shape the brow, then brow powder to fill them in. If you're using a pencil to fill in your brows, make sure to take short strokes to mimic the look of eyebrow hair.

Trend No. 4: Loose, messy waves
For this trend, think beachy waves, but less ... beachy. The loose waves coming down the runway for spring 2013 are even less structured than what we saw this past summer. From Rebecca Minkoff to Jill Stuart, the loose waves are best described by Aveda hairstylist John Reyman as "bedhead hair." For the Charlotte Ronson show, featured here, Reyman describes the look as if "the model woke up and this is her hair -- with texture and bend. The 'not done' hair is easier than one might think. It's something but nothing."

To get the look, first spritz a firm-hold hairspray on small sections of your hair. Then wrap the section around your fingers, and flat iron it. "Then, I let it fall. That's it," Reyman says.
