How she used them:
"So how was I going to use a brow liner in various places on my face? Well I had used it as an eyeliner (duh) in my previous looks, but what about as a lip liner too? Now we're talking. So I used this brow pencil to fill in my brows again (of course), line my upper lash line and used it to darken up the lip gloss pencil on my lips."
What she thought:
"The combination of the lip gloss pencil and the eyebrow pencil on my lips gave me a lovely dark and deep red/brown (very on-trend for fall, by the way). I then applied a tiny bit of the pink sparkles to my cheeks in order to give my face some color. I don't think this is a look I could wear to work everyday, but it definitely makes a statement. I love dark lips."
Final thoughts:
"I had a good time testing myself to see if I could create interesting and different looks using only three products. I did feel hindered a bit. I'm so used to having my whole makeup kit at my disposal. I'm a product junkie. There, I said it."

At first I was really hesitant to do this challenge because I am not the most creative person when it comes to makeup. I like keeping things simple and natural, and I get slightly terrified when I'm forced to think outside the box. So when picking my three products, I went for three totally different shades so it would be easier to mix and match.
How she used them:
"Today I applied the gold lipstick on my eyes as a cream shadow. Then I used the red cream blush on my cheeks. To finish the look I quickly swiped my lips with the gold lipstick."
What she thought:
"This look was ... interesting, to say the least. I know tons of models did this at Fashion Week this year, so I wanted to try it out. I liked the way the gold looked on my eyes, but it felt really weird. My eyeshadow usually creases really easily, so it melted off even faster with the lipstick. I think I might just buy a gold cream shadow to avoid this problem because I loved the color. As for the blush, I was afraid it would be too bright, but it blended really well -- phew!"

How she used them:
"Today I used the purple eyeshadow to create a smoky eye look, and used the red cream blush as a lipstick."
What she thought:
"This look was a little intense, and it made me feel a bit bold. I loved the eyes, but I don't know if they were exactly office-appropriate (I noticed I got a lot more looks from my co-workers). As for the lips, they were totally popping, but it just didn't work. The cream blush didn't last like a lipstick would, so it kept melting off my lips and getting everywhere. Eventually I just had to wipe it off and go nude for the rest of the day, which I was a bit bummed about."

How she used them:
"Today I applied a bit of lip gloss and then tapped the purple eyeshadow over my lips."
What she thought:
"I'm glad I kept everything else natural (eyes, cheeks), because this lip color was really strange. It was definitely more "goth" than I would normally go. At one point in the day, I even wished I could go back to the smoky eyes instead, because at least they were sexier and not-so-scary. I don't think I'll be trying this look again anytime soon."
Final thoughts:
"This challenge wasn't as hard (or bad) as I thought it would be. It definitely helped picking products that would work as multi-taskers, the only hard part was actually convincing myself that I could pull it off. But I had fun coming up with different looks and in the end I surprised myself with creativity I didn't know I had."
It's 6pm. And you just got a last minute invitation to dinner with friends. There's no question -- you're in. Except for one problem -- you don't have time to run home and touch up your makeup , and you only have lipstick, one eyeliner and powder in your purse. What's a girl to do? Easy -- get creative and make those makeup products multi-task.
Sure, if you're like most of us, you normally use around five or more makeup products each day (including foundation, powder and mascara), but is it really necessary? We decided to find out. We selected four brave women to participate in one challenge: pick three makeup products and see how many different makeup looks can be created using only those products. They happily accepted the challenge and faired pretty well. Well, that's really for you to decide.
To help you get a head start, here are some tips these women employed to turn their makeup into multi-taskers:
Tip 1: Brown eyeliner can be used as eyeshadow if you smudge it well and blend it upward on your eyelid.
Tip 2: Lipstick is a great blush. Dot it on the apples of your cheeks and blend. It will give your cheeks a soft, dewy flush.
Tip 3: Bronzer can be used everywhere -- brush it on your forehead, cheeks, nose and chin -- then dab some on your eyelids. You can even blend it on your lips by mixing it with lip gloss.
Tip 4: Like lipstick, blush can double as a lip tint. Dab it on your lips and mix it with some lip gloss for a soft, sheer color.
So whether you need to quickly touch up your makeup or just want to try a new makeup look, now you know the possibilities are endless -- even if you only have three makeup products.
