I'm rarely surprised when I find out a celebrity has been arrested. They live in a fantasy world of free-flowing drugs and alcohol, after all. And while it baffles me that many of them don't just hire drivers when they party, it doesn't shock me when they inevitably get pulled over.

What does amaze me, however, is how put-together and even beautiful some of them look in their mug shots. Seriously, are these celebrities stashing hair and makeup artists in their trunks in case the need arises? Or do they just always look stunning, even at their worst?

Of course, for every star who looks like she just stepped off the red carpet, there's another one with a pic that's totally cringe-inducing. You know the celebrity mug shots I'm talking about -- the one in which the starlet has smudged makeup, disheveled hair, and a "who me?" expression. Since these are just as (if not more) entertaining as the celebrities with perfect mug shots, they're here for your enjoyment as well.

Regardless of how these stars look, here's hoping they learn from their previous mistakes -- when it comes to their crimes and their mug shots.
