"The holidays can be stressful and your skin can look a bit lackluster before your big holiday event," says Rick DiCecca, global makeup artist for Artistry by Amway. Consider applying an illuminating face moisturizer before putting on your makeup or a mask the night before your event to achieve a luminous glow, he suggests.
To keep your skin looking luminous sans makeup, apply E.L.F. Illuminating Moisturizer SPF 15, $8, to achieve a soft and natural shine.
"Apply a neutral shade of highlighter to your eyelids, the top of your cheekbones and above your cupid's bow for instant holiday sparkle," DiCecca says. If you don't have a highlighter, you may use any shimmery eyeshadow in a neutral shade as a substitute, he adds.
To glow like a pro this holiday season, try using a neutral-tinted highlighter like Urban Decay Naked Skin Highlighting Fluid in Aura, $28, to achieve a soft and gorgeous sparkle.
"Undereye gel patches are a lifesaver," says editorial and celebrity makeup artist Maddie North. Just wear them for a few minutes on the way to drinks or dinner and you'll look (and feel!) refreshed for any event.
To keep your eyes looking fresh and revitalized, try using the Knesko Nano Gold Repair Collagen Eye Mask Treatment, $16, during your Uber ride to keep puffiness and dark circles under control.
"During the holidays, hands tend to be more on display, whether we are clinking glasses or are unwrapping gifts," says professional makeup artist Milian Bonillo. To keep your hands supple and smooth, she recommends swapping out hand lotion for a rich cream, like Aveeno Skin Relief Hand Cream, $5.49.
"A bold lip is always festive, but to make your look extra special, apply a bold darker shade on the outside of the lips and add some sparkle with a good lip topper," says makeup artist Dominique Samuel. CrushXO Crush It! Semi-Gloss Liquid Topper, $18, is infused with gemstones, so it gives you a beautiful dimension on your lips.
