While we had plenty of forms of glitter to choose from in the '90s -- gels, lotions, sprays -- we were partial to roll-on glitter, which allowed us to precisely apply it exactly where we needed it, like on our eyelids...and cheekbones...and temples...and arms... Hey, this was our decade to literally shine.
Scrunchies might be the scapegoat of '90s beauty trends (exhibit A: The infamous scrunchie episode of "Sex and the City" -- fans will know what we mean). True, when a woman is wearing a scrunchie, it's safe to assume she's either getting ready for bed or still pines for those high school cheerleading days. Still you've got to admit, they're a reasonably comfortable, functional alternative to hair-ties (no ponytail crease!). Sorry, Carrie Bradshaw.
The 1997 birthday-party circuit was paved with travel-size Bath & Body Works lotions, shower gels and body sprays. The only question was: Were you a Freesia gal or a Sun-Ripened Raspberry Gal? Or maybe you preferred Cucumber Melon or were hard-core in favor of Juniper Breeze. (Because nobody really liked Country Apple, right?).
