Argan Oil Use: Frizz Tamer
Mary Squillace, editor

The claim: Soothes fly-aways and static hair with a single dime-size drop.

What we did: Applied dime-size amount to hair once a day.

How it worked: "Technically this does tamp down frizz. Problem is, it also made my hair look hella greasy. Because the oil is so thick, it's a lot and harder to work through hair than the superlight smoothing serums you can buy, and it seemed to weigh down my hair, leaving it looking flat. I wouldn't use this to fight frizz unless I was really in a pinch."

The claim: Argan oil contains anti-aging properties, like vitamin E, and is a natural moisturizer.

What we did: Patted a dime size amount into dry skin after cleansing, morning and night.

How it worked: "If your skin is superdry like mine, this works very nicely. It locks in moisture, but doesn't seem to clog pores or cause or worsen breakouts (I was testing this with a couple blemishes around my nose and chin). The oil doesn't absorb instantly, but does so within a few minutes and doesn't feel too greasy or heavy. I definitely prefer this as a face oil, as opposed to a hair oil."
