The winners and honorable mentions in our Body Moisturizer and Body Wash categories all had one thing in common: Coconuts.

The sudsy, luxurious Victoria's Secret Coconut Milk Ultrarich Cream Wash, $18, and Aveeno Skin Relief Gentle Scent Body Wash Nourishing Coconut, $7.49 are delicately and deliciously scented with the tropical smell.

Our winners in the Body Moisturizer category are formulated with skin-softening coconut oil. Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula Coconut Oil Body Lotion, $7.39, contains both coconut oil and coconut milk for added nourishment, while Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, $45, contains the superstar oil plus guarana and cupuacu butter to lift, firm and moisturize our skin.

In other words: This year we were coo-coo for coconuts.

Moisturizer imparts the most benefits when your skin is slightly damp. But, really, who wants to only partially dry off after hopping out of the shower. (Can you say, "brrrr?") That's where genius in-shower moisturizers come in.

Both Eucerin In-Shower Moisturizer Body Lotion, $10.99, and Nivea In-Shower Hydrating Body Lotion, $7.99, are designed to be applied, as their names suggest, in the shower. Here's how you use them: Cleanse with your usual body wash, then apply them all over and rinse. It's as easy as that to get superhydrated skin.

But there's a reason Jergens Wet Skin, $7.99, won our Body Breakthrough award: This in-shower moisturizer requires no rinsing. Simply rub it all over wet skin and towel off as usual.

There's nothing better than discovering an amazing product before anyone else. This year, indie brands were huge, in part due to influencers and social media leveling the playing field and giving smaller brands the spotlight. Given the Korean beauty craze that's been sweeping the USA, it's no surprise that there were several indie Korean imports that amazed us this year: Chosungah 22, Too Cool For School and Re:P.

Chosungah was the first major professional makeup artist in Korea, and her products are a true reflection of K-beauty. Some of our faves include the 24H Raybeam Cream, which gives skin the dreamiest glow, and the Dong Gong Minn Jello Color Eyeshadow Palette, $39, which comes with wearable eye shadow shades in an easy-to-apply, bouncy formula.

We squealed over everything that came in from Too Cool For School. The dinosaur-themed packaging of the Dinoplatz line is beyond adorable, and innovative products, like the Escalator Mascara, $25, that allows you to change the length of your mascara wand, were seriously impressive.

Re:p is a cruelty-free, eco-friendly brand hailing from Korea and that's recently become available in the States. Their Organic Cotton Treatment Toning Pads, $44, won the award for Best Toner/Mist because the supersaturated, pre-soaked pads are easy to swipe on after cleansing, and are packed with good-for-skin ingredients like damask rose, tea tree and calendula.

It's official: Feathered, full brows are in. The latest crop of brow products promises to get you that look with minimal effort. Skinny pencils, like Urban Decay Brow Beater Microfine Brow Pencil and Brush, $20, allow you to draw superthin, realistic hairs in seconds.

Nudestix Eyebrow Stylus Pencil and Gel, $24, won Best Brows because of its slanted-tip applicator that makes filling in wimpy brows a breeze, and a gel that doesn't quit all day long. Glossier Boy Brow, $16, our honorable mention in the brows category, won us over with its swipe-and-go tinted formula that instantly plumps brows.

Cleansing oil, in gel, liquid and balm form, is all the rage. These nourishing, gentle cleansers deeply cleanse skin, and clear away makeup and dirt while leaving skin incredibly soft. So it's not surprising that both our winner and honorable mention in the cleanser category were both oils.

Peter Thomas Roth 24K Gold Pure Luxury Cleansing Butter, $55, feels superluxe on skin, and leaves nary a trace of makeup on your face. A more budget-friendly option is our honorable mention, Burt's Bees Facial Cleansing Oil, $15.99. It's 100 percent natural, and contains nourishing coconut and argan oils.
