"Maskne, it happens, but rarely because I'm extremely preventative," says Siffat Haider, co-founder of Arrae. "Exfoliation has been extremely important for me. I use the Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel pads every other night, which is great for prevention."
"When I feel a pimple coming on, I use the Renee Rouleau Zit Care Kit. It has three different products which all target any sort of breakout and is extremely effective," explains Haider. "I also double cleanse my face every night. This really helps prevent congestion before it even happens."
"Maskne has been mostly around the nose and mouth and sometimes on the lower cheeks and jaw as well. Not only is the heat (from breath) an issue, but the mask can rub up against skin and the friction can irritate those areas, especially if the mask you are wearing is a disposable one that is tight-fitting," says Director of Esthetics for Monastery Marija Gelo.
"Mornings are always busy with kids in the house so I keep it simple. I massage Monastery Rose Cleansing Oil onto my skin before I jump in the shower. I leave it on while I wash my hair, then I rinse it off after I rinse my hair."
"As soon as I get out of the shower I spray my face with a hydrasol. (Monastery founder Athena Hewett is working on a new one and I get to test it!) Then I apply the Monastery Flora Botanical Cream Serum," explains Gelo.
"I've been loving the Attar balm because it helps protect my skin from the friction of the mask as well as the heat that builds up under the mask," says Gelo.
