Though my grey hairs seemingly multiply by the day, I'm still reluctant to dye my hair (to the chagrin of my stylist). The reason: maintenance. I barely make it to the hair salon twice a year for trims. I'm not about to add costly biweekly root touchups to my calendar. Thankfully, in recent years, hair care brands have come to our rescue with root touch-up products that conceal greys in seconds. This spray by L'Oreal couldn't be easier -- or more effective.
Before heading out the door, I point the tiny, targeted nozzle at my roots along my part and at my temples, and my grays are gone (temporarily, of course). The dark brown matches my brunette strands perfectly.
Another genius use for this product: it makes hair appear thicker and fuller than it really is. As I approach my mid-40s, my hair is not as lush as it once was. Spraying L'Oreal's Root Cover Up on my scalp totally conceals that fact. --Jill Provost
It practically has to be a special occasion for me to justify blow-drying my hair. My thick hair holds onto moisture like crazy, so drying it takes what feels like a decade, and when I'm rushing around in the morning, that's just not an option. Needless to say, my ears perk up when I hear about any product that claims to make air-drying easier. Garnier's Air Dry Anti-Frizz Cream is one of these products. I simply add a little product to my wet hair and scrunch it for soft, beachy waves. Or for a smooth finish, I brush it through my hair and let it dry straight. Either way, I can rely on this product to make my hair to look better than if I hadn't used any product -- and to keep my blow-dryer in retirement. --Mary Squillace
My aunt recommended Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle Moist Deep Conditioner to me, and it lives up to its miraculous name: Its moisturizing properties are no joke. Plus, the bright purple squeeze bottle recalls the cutesy shampoos you might have used as a kid, which adds a fun nostalgic aspect -- and, at this price point, you don't have to feel guilty about applying an indulgent dollop of the stuff to your mane. --Rosie Narasaki
This hairspray from TRESemme is truly the hairspray for people who hate hairspray. Its formula gives you an ultrasoft hold without any crunchy texture. If you spray too much, you can easily brush it out. While some hairsprays make your hair deflate, this one actually adds volume. It also leaves behind the best scent -- making you wonder which perfume you sprayed that morning. --Hannah Savin
If you struggle with fine hair that tangles easy, meet your new BFF. This lightweight leave-in conditioner helps remove snarls and snags without having to war with your brush. Just as important -- it doesn't leave hair heavy or limp. Just add a few pumps post-shower and watch your comb glide through tresses effortlessly. Panthenol and silk amino acids help strengthen weak strands, while sunflower seed and green tea leaf extracts fortify against environmental aggressors, like sun and pollution. --Jill Provost
