In case you haven't noticed... neutralizing brass is really important for blondies. Our last neutralizing recommendation comes from Gina Rivera, celebrity hairstylist and founder of Phenix Salon Suites. "If you want to remove the brassiness in minutes at a great price point, give Kristin Ess products a try; it works extremely well on both colored or natural blonde hair," she says. "I like that it has the ability to restores the hair's shine and that it's gentle enough to use on a daily basis."
"Anyone who has dyed their hair blonde knows that the less you can wash your hair, the better, so dry shampoo is a must," says Fitzsimons. "This one is great because it not only has the rice starch to absorb oil, buildup, and odor, but it actually has subtle violet undertones to balance a blonde's worst enemy: brassiness."
Since dyed blonde hair tends to be more fragile, protecting it while styling is super important. Mesquit recommends Ouai's Memory Mist Heat Protectant because "it has a higher heat resistance than most at 450 degrees, and also helps hair to hold its style until your next wash."
Another heat protectant to look into is one made specifically for blondes by Kerastase. Dorsey says, "Not only does it protect the hair from heat caused by styling, but in the process makes the hair feel smoother and look shiner. It's designed specifically for lightened and highlighted hair in mind. Also, it contains hyaluronic acid which, yes, plumps the hair fiber."
