The terms "lactic acid bacteria" and "lip treatment" used in conjunction with each other might cause a bit of cognitive dissonance... but luckily for you (and your lips), it turns out they're a match made in heaven.
You see, the lactic acid bacteria actually is a prebiotic that helps balance the microbiome of your lips, which in turn helps them to retain moisture. This is to, in the brand's own words, "break the cycle of drying then reapplying your lip balm over and over." It's a big promise, but you know what? This lip treatment keeps its word.
For context, I'm that person with perpetually chapped lips who always has like ten lip balms rattling around in her purse — and I applied it this morning and my lips feel uncommonly hydrated and comfy. It's quickly becoming my new go-to.
Another thing this lip treatment has going for it? Well, it doubles as a gloss/tint — and the shade selection is at once innovative and imminently wearable. So far, my favorites are the +1 Sheer Pink and the copper-flecked -4 Black shades (don't worry, even though the black looks intimidating, it's just as daily wear-appropriate as the sheer pink). I also find myself quite drawn to the -2 Sheer Green shade. There's even a clear semi-matte option if you're not a gloss person!

Look, I was a huge fan of the Huda Beauty The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette, $65. Heck, here at TotalBeauty, we even named it the best palette of 2019!
But... I think I might like this new update even more. And that's for a few reasons: First of all, I love that this version comes with a larger selection of darker shades, which makes sense with the whole "naughty" theme. Now, I wouldn't consider myself particularly naughty, but I do love a good eyeshadow-as-eyeliner option, and this palette comes with three.
I'm also a huge fan of how Huda Beauty does sparkle and this palette has two gorgeous shimmery "marble creams," as well as three blingy metallics. Also of note is the innovative "pearl gloss hybrid," which is a jelly-like gloss embedded with "pearls" of shimmer (think makeup artists using Vaseline as eye gloss backstage at fashion week). It's quite fun and innovative!
Oh and in case the "naughty" moniker had you in doubt of its daytime wearability factor, rest assured: This palette can swing both naughty and nice. In all honesty, it's equally well-equipped with shadows for low-key day looks and high-key night looks... which in my book makes it an instant staple.

I'm always on the hunt for a super gentle face cleanser, and this one definitely fits the bill. It's designed to be sensitive skin-safe, thanks to a sodium lauryl sulfate-, soap- and fragrance-free formula. It also boasts a balancing pH of 5.5, as well as a star ingredient of nourishing hemp seed oil.
As for user experience, I loved that the milky, lotion-like texture kept my skin feeling hydrated, while still effectively washing the day away. In other words? It's joining my nighttime skin care routine, stat!
