Eczema is an inflammatory skin condition that presents as an irritated, inflamed and often itchy rash on your skin. Depending on your skin type, you may also experience pink to brown scaly rashes, tiny, itchy water blisters and even occasional cracks in the skin.
"Eczema occurs when the skin barrier is compromised and reacts to environmental factors, irritants and allergens and becomes inflamed and irritated," explains Dr. Tiffany Libby, board certified dermatologist at Brown Dermatology.
She notes that while we often see eczema in babies and children, it can also develop in adulthood. Because the skin barrier is compromised, finding products to treat eczema can be tricky.
