A suburban home comes with a little something you never dealt with in the city — a lawn. Coming through, pardon me, and welcome! to your new endless obsession and a sudden new source of pride, envy, creativity, competitiveness — you know, all the correct markings of a good score; at least judging by one of my all-time favorite educational shows, Desperate Housewives. But, what do lawns have to do with intimate hair removal and trending intimate grooming habits of Americans?
A lawn maintenance company called LawnStarter went ahead and did an actual survey on this topic — playing to the lawn, bush, and trimmer references associated with body hair. One thousand Americans shared their body hair preferences and habits. Just a bit of warning as we continue — some dark places are mentioned. Lasers were involved, too, but not as much as you'd think. Also, a part of the population doesn't groom themselves; like, at all (maybe sometimes, like on Valentine's Day).

U.S. adults are half and half when it comes to personal grooming. 52% prefer a neat or smooth appearance, while the rest (48%) prefer to let nature be. When it comes to routine, a little over 3 in 10 adults, the highest share, groom weekly, followed by those who groom daily, at 21.4%. Nearly 1 in 10 adults (9%) never groom at all. Some groom for love: apparently, over 1 in 10 adults (11.7%) groom to please their partner.

The face, armpits, and pubes get the most — and nearly equal (averaging a little over 57%) — attention. Our most neglected area? The backside.

The razor is overwhelmingly the most popular (75.5%) hair removal tool in our bathrooms and routines. It's followed by the trimmer at 45.1%. Turns out, very few adults (3%) opt for laser hair removal treatment.
