Bridal beauty can be so boring. Natural makeup, messy side buns and nude manicures prevail. While all of that can be pretty, it's hardly inspiring.

So we look to Bridal Fashion Week to up the ante. And the spring 2017 season didn't disappoint. From funky headpieces to pearl-encrusted manicures, there's something for every bride. And of course there's also dewy skin and rosy cheeks for good measure. After all, the key is finding the hair and makeup that's right for your wedding.

"You have to look at the whole picture," says bridal hairstylist Samantha Arrow. "What are you wearing? What's the vibe you're going for? Is it outside? Is it inside? From there you can determine your perfect bridal look."

And we think these inspiration photos will get you one step closer to figuring it all out.

This look from Marchesa is, in one word, opulent. From the elaborate earrings (dangling with real flowers!) to the jeweled headpiece, it's major. Yet it's the inverted braid -- tucked under at the nape of the neck -- that steals the show.

Designer Ines Di Santo said this collection was inspired by the soft, pretty freshness of spring, and that certainly shines through in the makeup, as well. This photo is proof that a hint of shimmer on the eyes, a pop of color on the cheeks and a rosy-plum lip are all you need to look gorgeous on your big day.

Bridal manicures tend to be nude, beige or pale pink, and while this look from Reem Acra is certainly neutral, it's special because there's a freshwater pearl on a few of each models' fingers. It's a unique way to accessorize that's not over the top.
