The World Health Organization (WHO) says adults should be doing at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity throughout the week and a great way to do that is by just walking, going for a jog, or getting friends together for a hike.

If there's a community basketball court, tennis court or swimming pool that is nearby and accessible to you for free, use it! Find friends to join you, or create a group of people you may know from the area and get social while you get fit.

Exercise equipment can be expensive, but you don't necessarily have to go out and buy a fancy new set of weights or a pricey yoga block. Instead, borrow your kids' jump rope, use old soda bottles and fill them with sand and use them as weights, or use a chair to do push ups — the world is your oyster.
