For years now, moving to a more eco-friendly, sustainable manufacturing model has been gaining momentum. It's been a bit slower going than what many might like, but the shift is definitely happening. In addition to new brands dedicated to producing cleaner products, tried-and-true brands are switching gears, too. Yep, your trusty BeautyBlender now comes in a 60% plant-based format. You can use it just like you would the traditional pink version — wet it a bit, then apply your foundation. The innovative teardrop shape allows you to blend makeup in hard-to-reach spots like under your eyes and around your nose. The product is cruelty-free and packaged in recycled materials.
Raise your hand if you've ever felt guilty throwing away all those single-use sheet masks. Don't worry: Honest Beauty, which has long dedicated itself to being clean and green, has heard your internal cringing and offers a solution via a reusable silicone sheet mask. Just slather your favorite serum or moisturizer and then place the cooling mask over your face. It even has a handy loop to place over your ears so it won't budge. After 5 to 30 minutes (you do you), rinse, dry, and store in the provided bag. Genius!
Philosophy's iconic Purity cleanser has always had a name that implied simplicity, but in 2020 the brand re-launched the product with a clean, paraben-free formulation. Purity Made Simple is a one-step cleanser that nixes makeup and residue from the day and leaves skin soft and hydrated.
I remember when Lash Blast first debuted and how excited I was about the formulation. I touted its lash-lengthening, non-clumping powers non-stop. Imagine my glee when I learned the brand recently debuted Lash Blast Clean. Believe it or not, the formula is actually much more elegant, and in addition to boosting length and defining lashes, it delivers a nice curl.
