When the front of your fridge is covered in wedding invitations and your inbox is overloaded with pool party e-vites, you know to prep for the obvious. Buy a new dress or bikini, freshen up your highlights, break out the waterproof mascara.
But if you're anything like us, it's not until the day of, when you glance down at your beyond-pasty legs and gnarly toes, that you realize you may have forgotten a thing or two. To help avoid that last minute panic, we've created this checklist to get your body ready for any big event. Whether you've got months or minutes, we've got you covered.

If you have two months
You have plenty of time to give your skin an overhaul if needed. Take a close look in the mirror and decide if anything needs tweaking: uneven skin tone, spider veins, stretch marks, all the fun stuff.
If you have a skin issue to deal with, schedule a visit with your dermatologist. Your derm can help you zero in on treatments like microdermabrasion, chemical peels, intense pulse light treatment, or even laser hair removal.
If you don't want to go the dermo route, there are a few treatments you can try at home. Start applying stretch mark or cellulite creams now, since these treatments often take four to eight weeks to show results. Also, up your exercise regimen to tone any "problem" areas.

If you have one month
The clock is ticking, but you still have time to add fixes to your daily regimen. If you have uneven skin tone, pick up a lotion with vitamin C, which can help minimize dark spots. Start slathering that lotion on your feet before bed (bonus points if you sleep with socks on) to moisturize cracked heels.
You're not quite in a time crunch yet, but you are running out of time to make major changes. Instead, focus on quick fixes that'll have a big impact. For starters, book a pedicure appointment to get those rough heels in shape and get your toes looking pretty.
Next, start dry brushing your skin before you shower. It helps with circulation (hello, glowing skin), and may even minimize cellulite and help you detox.
A tan is the perfect way to get glowing and camouflage any problem areas. Of course we're not going to tell you to bake in the sun, but if your skin is pasty and pale, start using a gradual self-tanning lotion or book an appointment for a spray tan. If you get a spray tan, schedule it for two days before your event -- the first day after you're sprayed can be a little too dark. This will also give you time to fix any streaks or mistakes.
Diet-wise, try eating foods that can reduce bloating, like watermelon, spinach, and cucumber, so you look your best in your two-piece or party dress.
