Considering the fact that it already takes insane concentration, a seriously steady hand, and a good 10-15 minutes to shape and fill in my basic, everyday brow, the idea of spending about 20 minutes trying to carve out this silly brow trend is a joke. Not only is this just ugly -- sorry, people -- no matter how well you do it, it was hard to do. I mean seriously difficult. To put it simply: No. Just no.

Even though my look was much subtler than what you might see on Instagram, the reaction was still the same: "No, please, no." Just about everyone who witnessed this look thought it was ridiculous -- and I had to agree.

I had a hard time deciding which way to complete this trend, as some 'grammers go all out dusting their entire eyelids, temples and the side of their head with colored powders while others take a more minimalistic approach to the eyebrow trend by just creating a line around the brow. I thought this option would be the best way to make it "wearable" but even that proved challenging. I was going to include some details on the ombre look, the colors I used, techniques, etc., then I decided that absolutely no one should try this at home.

Believe it or not, this brow look did have one supporter. "To be completely honest, I think brow carving could be cute if it was for a festival or something," one of my friends observed. I'd have to agree with that one, but we were the only two people in my circle who thought so. Everyone else totally hated this trend. "WTF is going on with your brows," pretty much sums up the thoughts of my friends and family when it comes to carved brows. ~\_(ツ)_/~

While the reviews from my friends and family were mixed, it's safe to say that everyone thinks I look better with my regular brows, and in my opinion, they're not wrong. I completely somewhat understand how some of these trends came about: In the name of art. Instagram makeup artists are just that: artists. It only makes sense that they are thinking outside the box to create a new trend, see if it catches on, then get their name out there for the work that they created.
While rocking these brow trends for, you know, about five minutes was fun and all, I actually thought most of them were more difficult and time-consuming than they were worth. Sorry squiggly brows, it looks like it's just not going to work out between us. Squiggle lips on the other hand? Well, we'll save that for another story.
