When I left Dermalogica, it was around 7 p.m. and my intention was to go home and cook dinner. In my dream-like state, it was very lucky for me that they are conveniently located about a mile and a half from my apartment because driving much further than that would have been a huge undertaking. Once I got home, I quickly made myself a little something to eat and climbed into bed.

I can honestly say this was the first time in weeks that I had gotten a sound night's sleep. I felt truly relaxed and rejuvenated when my head hit the pillow and when I awoke the next morning. I also didn't feel the need to check my inbox one more time or browse Instagram before hitting the hay. It reminds me that I need to continue to be mindful of my tech-dependencies and try to avoid doing these things before bed.

The big lesson here is put your devices away at bedtime. They don't serve you and your skin will end up looking crummy from abundance of stress and lack of sleep. I've since taken up wearing an eye mask to bed and I've been on the lookout for a weighted blanket. Oh, and the terrible cystic neck pimple — it cleared up several days after the treatment.
