When I first read about GloPRO, I admit to thinking it was just another gimmicky ad put on by an influencer on Instagram. Regardless, it hooked me enough to Google it to see what it was all about.
Microneedling, also known as dermarolling, stimulates the skin's natural healing response to induce micro-rejuvenation deep within the skin. As the needles pass over the skin, the rejuvenation process begins immediately as cells respond to imperceptible microchannels by restoring volume from the inside out. Red LED light function and a vibration work "synergistically" to enhance regenerative skin benefits. The result, according to the folks at GloPRO, is a visibly firmer, smoother, younger-looking appearance.
Sounds pretty good, right? As soon as I read how beneficial these tools can be, I was down to endure a little pain in the name of beauty.

As someone with easily irritated skin, to say that I was nervous to roll needles, however micro they may be, across my face is an understatement. I don't just mean that certain ingredients can disrupt its peace. I mean that I could do absolutely nothing at all and still find myself glaring at yet another random red patch when I catch my reflection walking past a mirror. So, it's understandable then that my expectations of rolling needles across were focused on the amount of redness I would have to endure. But more than that, I began to think about my enlarged pores just outside the border of my nose, the ever-present wrinkle above my left eyebrow from snapping my signature selfie smize one too many times and the minute crinkles that are starting to set in around my dimples. I began to get excited for the potentially complexion-changing results this glowing facial tool, however painful it may end up being, might bring about -- so I rolled up my sleeves and unboxed my GloPRO.
With all the pieces of my GloPRO out in front of me -- the dermaroller itself, sanitizing spritzer, the prep pads and a charging cord -- I cleansed my skin with my regular Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser, $34, and prepped my skin with one of the GloPRO Skin Prep Pads. Once my skin was cleansed and prepped, I powered on the device, hoped for the best and began rolling the microneedles into my skin, remembering that I was told to use moderate pressure while rolling in different asterisk-like patterns across all my areas of concern.
As I rolled the microneedles across my face, I was comforted by the tiny pin pricks that seemed more like a sort of catharsis than any real pain. Day after day, the more I rolled my face, the more I began to believe I could feel my skin plumping in response. After rolling for the recommended one minute, remembering to pass over each section with 8-10 strokes, for seven straight days, I'm pleased with how clear, radiant and downright youthful my skin looks. Sure, there was plenty (and I mean PLENTY) of redness after each rolling sesh, but once that subsided (thanks to using Lush's calamine-infused FOMO Jelly Mask, $13.95, to speed up the process), my skin has continued to look revitalized.
As for noticeably reduced wrinkles and fine lines? They're slightly faded, especially around my smile lines. I think a longer trial time is necessary to see the real results that so many other women have seen -- namely with my pores and stubborn eyebrow wrinkle.

Dermarolling may seem gimmicky, but the immediate plumping results have convinced me to add it to my daily routine. Just remember, it's not an overnight miracle -- it will cause redness and it may not be for the faint of heart depending on pain tolerance or fear of needles -- but it creates small changes which, over time, can make quite a bit of difference.
