Here's How to Fade a Too-Strong Dye Job

Extra salon visits not always necessary

Don't Wear a Hat Outside
Something you probably wouldn't think of is going out in sunlight without a hat to fade color. Just be aware that the sun can damage hair, like skin, so limit exposure. You don't want to burn your scalp or dry out hair.

Go to the Salon
As much as some people might not want to go to the salon, know that it's always an option. If you got your hair dyed professionally, you might want to return to the scene of the crime — because if you're not happy with the original service performed, the salon will likely offer to correct it, free of charge.

Be aware that the salon treatments are likely going to be stronger. Or, they could try one of the previous hacks. Tish and Snooky reveal that the pros might give hair a bleach bath, which is a mixture of shampoo and bleach. (They do not recommend anyone attempting it at home because it may be damaging to hair.)
