On a scale from 1 to 10, how obsessed are you with "Fleabag"? We're sitting at a solid 11 at the moment; Phoebe Waller-Bridge is a genius and we bow down to her.
Now, at this point, hundreds — if not thousands — have flocked to buy the iconic "Fleabag jumpsuit." (You know the one: Sleek, black, and the perfect mix of classy and sexy, thanks to the keyhole cutout artfully placed over the décolletage.) Surely, along with that surge in jumpsuit sales, there's been a corresponding spike in the purchase of red lipstick, right? We've certainly found ourselves reaching for the shade more often lately (along with Breton tops and pinafore-style dresses, of course).
So, with that in mind, we thought we'd round up a few Fleabag-adjacent reds — you know, wearable red lipsticks, with just the right amount of berry and/or brickiness mixed in. We've also made sure to feature some of our very favorite formulas — keep reading to see our top picks.
According to some intrepid reporting from The Hairpin, the actual red worn by Waller-Bridge on the show is a custom blend "a blend of oils, waxes and pigments," which is admittedly hard to copy at home. But, makeup artist Pippa Woods goes on to say that the custom shade was inspired by this one from M.A.C., officially making it the perfect jumping off point for "Fleabag"-inspired red lips.
This one isn't quite red — more like a red-burgundy that's faded down after a few glasses of, well, burgundy. The soft matte finish is to-die-for and leaves lips looking pillow-y and plump, without drying them out. (Also, the name is especially apropos, given the fact that Waller-Bridge is currently punching up the "Bond 25" script.)
