From serums to sprays, these products will tame your frizzy hair into sleek submission

If Your Hair Is Fine and Straight
Just because your hair is poker-straight doesn't mean you're immune to frizz. Instead of slathering on smoothing creams or oils that leave hair limp, use an in-shower conditioning treatment to restore hydration.

Treatment: Squeeze a few drops of OGX Miracle In-Shower Oil, $8.99, into your conditioner once or twice weekly.

Styling: Sebastian Professional Volupt Spray, $19.95, adds volume to hair while smoothing frizz.

If Your Hair Is Fine and Wavy
If your hair is sufficiently moisturized, you won't need to add heavy styling products later on to tame frizz. Instead, you can play up your waves and add piece-y texture without making your style look messy.

Treatment: Use a hydrating shampoo and conditioner like Davines Replumping Shampoo and Conditioner, $25.50 each, which contain hyaluronic acid to restore moisture.

Styling: After your hair dries, rub a small amount of Kiehl's Malleable Molding Paste, $24, between your palms. Then, scrunch your waves. It will help hold the texture, and it contains sunflower seed extract to help smooth frizz.

If Your Hair Is Fine and Curly
When you have fine, curly hair, you'll be tempted to break up your curls to make them look bigger and more voluminous. However, this also creates frizz. Choose extremely lightweight products that add volume and fight frizz simultaneously.

Treatment: A hydrating mousse is your friend; it will build volume while moisturizing away frizz. Use R+Co Chiffon Styling Mousse, $27, on damp hair. It thickens while it smoothes.

Styling: Alterna Bamboo Anti-Frizz Curl Defining Cream, $25, gives curls hold without the crunch of a gel, and it's light enough for fine hair.

If Your Hair Is Medium and Straight
Keep styling products to a minimum on straight hair. You want maximum volume without the frizz.

Treatment: Spray Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Primer, $27, onto damp hair and comb through. The primer conditions and protects, but is light enough that you can still build volume.

Styling: Once hair is dry, seal out frizz with a smoothing hairspray like Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Humidity Aerosol Hairspray, $4.29.

If Your Hair Is Medium and Wavy
A few drops of anti-frizz oil on the ends of damp hair will help to smooth flyaways, and prep for styling.

Treatment: Try L'Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Nourishing Oil, $32, a lightweight oil with hydrating avocado and grape seed oils.

Styling: John Frieda Frizz Ease Dream Curls Air-Dry Waves Styling Foam, $8.99, adds hold to loose waves while eliminating frizz.
