Move over, silver and bronze. It's officially the season of gold makeup. Every winter, we can't help but add a touch of metallic sparkle -- be it gilded lids or glittery polish -- to our makeup repertoire, and this year, it's all about gold, the color of luxury, opulence and #winning (and who doesn't want to go into the New Year with that mindset?). That's why it's the only metallic we're wearing this holiday season, ensuring we'll take first place in makeup at all of our gatherings. Here, take inspiration from 13 of the most gorgeous ways to wear gold makeup.

Up the ante on a dramatic cat eye by adding gold glitter. Sweep a gold eye shadow over your entire lid. Use a black liquid liner to create a thick cat eye. Next, take a glittery gel liner -- we're obsessed with Urban Decay Heavy Metal Eyeliner, $20, in Midnight Cowboy, because it's easy to apply and there's no fallout -- and use it to trace over the gold shadow on your lid that still shows. Be sure to let it dry before opening your eyes.

Keep the rest of your face neutral to let your eyes really pop.

Makeup artist Lisa Eldridge uses a mixture of rose gold shadow and gilded liner to create this holiday-ready, gold eye makeup look. Line your eyes from inner to outer corner with a golden eyeliner, like Lancome Artliner 24H, $23, in Gold, to get a similarly festive look.

Kendall Jenner's otherworldly glow requires some serious highlighting makeup skills (luckily, we've got the strobing tutorial right here). To make your skin look extra angelic (and to set the look so your highlighter doesn't turn into greaseball city), use a fluffy brush to apply a gold powder highlighter over your liquid one. A swipe of gold shadow, like E.L.F. Long-Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow, $3, in Toast across your lid and in the crease of your eye is a pretty, subtle take on the gold makeup trend.
