You've probably heard that you should use a lighter concealer under your eyes to help brighten and contour your face. However, that's not the case for blemishes, since it can end up highlighting the very spots you're trying to camouflage. Also note that overdoing the too-light concealer can suck the radiance from your natural skin tone. To be safe, stick with a pigment one shade lighter than your skin (and no lighter).

DO: Test your concealer in the right lighting
While your makeup may look perfect under bathroom or bedroom lighting, that may not be the case when you go outside. To really ensure you're wearing a concealer that is just right for your skin tone, always make sure to check out the way it looks on your skin underneath natural lighting.
