Your tools are crucial to your success: Having the right brush and knowing how to work with it can make a huge difference in applying eyeshadow. For laying down shadow, we recommend using a denser brush to really help you pack up the colors. As for blending, opt for tapered blending brush with natural fibers. Last but not least, you'll want smaller brush with a pointed tip for precision work along the lash line (and even the crease if you're doing a cut-crease style).

In addition to your face primer, you're going to want to apply a eyeshadow primer to make sure all your hard work stays in place. It also allows pigments to apply smoothly and protects your skin from staining. When you use one, wait for it to dry before moving on to your eyeshadow application.
