Use dry shampoo to fight sweat
Dry shampoo may help keep your hair feeling fresh and clean between washes, but Richards also says it's a great way to protect your blowout from potential damage caused by sweat. She recommends keeping some R+CO Death Valley Dry Shampoo, $17, in your bag in order to keep your blowout bouncy and sweat-free.

Throw some anti-humidity hairspray in your bag
Like dry shampoo, anti-humidity hairspray can also be your BFF this summer as it will lock and seal in your style when it's hot and humid outside, says Sheppard. (Try Tresemme Climate Control Finishing Hair Spray, $4.92.)

Sleep in a high twisted pinned bun
Preserving your blowout also extends to sleeping with the right hairstyles at night. Richards says that sleeping in a high twisted pinned bun (not a hair tie!) prevents dents, eliminates frizz and keeps your hair cool.

Use a natural bristle brush
The right brush can make or break your blowout. Vercher says that while there a plenty of brushes on the market suited to different hair types, a natural bristle brush tends to work best on all types of hair. (Try Beauty by Earth Boar Bristle Hair Brush, $19)

Aim down when blow-drying
The direction in which you blow-dry your hair is also important. Sheppard says you should always aim down when styling your hair in the summer. This helps cut down frizz and keeps your tresses chic and super smooth throughout the day.
