Whether it's the influence of "Mad Men" or the abundance of awesome eyeliner markers that's to blame, '60s liner is a huge trend again.

At Rachel Zoe (top left), makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury used a chocolate brown pen to create a feline flick. "Rachel and I love the '60s and '70s," she said about the look. "Everyone just put so much effort into their hair and makeup back then. I hope that returns."

The rocker-ish smudgy eye has been popular forever, and this is the latest incarnation. Instead of smoking out the top lid, makeup artists focused their efforts on the often-neglected under eye area.

At Jenny Packham (top right), makeup artist Talia Sparrow used Laura Mercier products to create the look. "It's still a rock 'n' roll look," she said. "But it's a different take on a smoky eye." She emphasized the importance of foundation and concealer to get rid of any redness -- especially around the eyes.

Like legions of gorgeous superheroes, models pranced down runways in both New York and Europe wearing eye mask-like makeup. While this look was definitely popular at NYFW, it also took center stage this past week in Paris at shows like Kenzo and Louis Vuitton.

At Tracy Reese (bottom left), makeup artist Sir John, working with La Prairie, (he also happens to work with a singer you may have heard of: Beyoncé) dragged makeup-coated fan brushes across models' eyelids to create the look. "The eyes are the statement," he said. "It's graphic liner on steroids."

At Fashion Week, hair has been wavy, beachy, curly, kinky and even intentionally frizzy for the better part of the last decade. This season, however, straight hair made a serious comeback. Flat irons were spotted backstage at Thakoon, Erin Featherston, Yigal Azrouel and more.

At Rachel Zoe (top right), John Frieda celebrity hairstylist Harry Josh used John Frieda Frizz Ease Beyond Smooth Frizz Immunity Primer, $9.99, to create the healthiest-looking hair possible. Josh said hair should be straight, but not pin straight. "It needs to be modern -- it can't be too literal," he said. "It's polished and expensive looking."

At Suno (bottom left), hairstylist Odile Gilbert used Kenra products to create pulled-back and folded-over ponytails with graphic clips. She sprayed Kenra Volume Spray 25, $16, all over the style -- even the clip -- for extra hold.
